BELLEVUE COMMUNITY CHURCH ANNOUNCES NEW LEADERSHIP

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (February 5, 2006) - The board of elders of Bellevue Community Church (BCC) announces it has successfully completed a national search for a lead pastor and is welcoming David Perez to lead the congregation.

Perez will assume the role of BCC's lead pastor in early March. He will join BCC Associate Pastor Bill West as part of the BCC teaching team. West, who served as interim pastor during the national search, will continue his leadership of the adult, small group and children's ministries at the church.

Perez comes to BCC from Broomfield, Co., a suburb of Denver, where he is founding pastor of Colorado Ridge Church, a fast-growing and innovative church regarded for its development of original films, musical worship and creative teaching series. Perez began his ministry career as a Campus Crusade for Christ director in Texas and New Mexico, then served on staff at Willow Creek Community Church in Chicago for four years, overseeing small groups and singles ministry. He and his wife moved to the Denver area in 1997 to help launch Colorado Ridge Church.

An award-winning filmmaker and international speaker and trainer, Perez has appeared in Sharing Christ Together, part of Zondervan's Life Together DVD teaching series, has spoken at national church leadership seminars, and spent time as an NFL chaplain for the Philadelphia Eagles.

"We are thrilled David will join us in the work God is doing through BCC here in Nashville," said Mike Hueneke, M.D., president of the church's board of elders. "David is a truly a dynamic speaker, experienced and committed to spreading the good news about Jesus Christ in progressive, culturally-relevant and authentic ways. His passion about new growth in discipleship, community service, and programs for young families, singles, students and children is a perfect fit for our congregation and our mission."

"I am humbled to have this opportunity and am greatly excited to become a part of what is happening at BCC," said Perez. "Leaving Colorado Ridge is not a decision my wife and I anticipated making, but God is doing amazing things at Bellevue Community Church and we feel blessed to have been called to be a part of it." Perez and his wife Liz have been married for 15 years and have two children.

Bellevue Community Church was founded in 1988 by a handful of Bellevue residents who desired to plant a different type of church than was available in the community. Over the past 19 years, BCC has continued its mission to reach out to and impact lives all over middle Tennessee. BCC is located on the 280-acre "Hope Park" campus located off Highway 70S and I-40 in Bellevue. For more information, please visit www.hopepark.com.
