A Bible Study Offered by Women of Hope Women’s Ministry

Feast ~ Finding Your Place at the Table of Tradition examines the six major feasts of the Jewish calendar and their historical meanings. It helps Christ-followers discover the richness of tradition and what those timeless practices mean today.

This 8-week Bible study will cover the feasts of Passover, Weeks, Trumpets, Day of Atonement, Tabernacles, and Dedication and will be an interactive study with cooking. Each meeting will involve discussion of the assigned chapter for the week, preparing food specific to the Feast being studied, and sharing a meal together! At the end of the 8-week study, 2 additional meetings will be offered to watch films pertaining to two of the feasts studied.

Feast begins on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. Class size is limited to 8. Feast study books are $12.00 and available at LifeWay or at the BCC Resource Center. There is an additional cost of $50.00 per person to cover all meals ($6.25 per meal). Feast ~ Finding Your Place at the Table of Tradition
“Remember … It’s a concept that doesn’t get much press, especially in a culture that thrives on and prizes change and innovation.  Yet in the midst of our obsession with what’s new comes God’s command to remember. Feast can help us do just that. Derek Lehman – author, rabbi, and Christian – walks us through these occasions with historical insight, as well as providing an essential link between tradition and the contemporary Christ-follower. ~ Maybe we don’t need another new idea.  Maybe we need some very old traditions to remind us that in a constantly changing world, God never does. So pull up a chair.  Let’s eat along with generations of God’s people before us, and remember.”
