With a vision to minister to the homeless children of Mexico, Rev. Steve and Cathy Horner co-founded Rancho de Sus Niños in 1987. Today over 500 children are reached in the orphanage, family care center, schools, and youth center. The orphanage, located in Valle Redondo, Northern Baja California, between Tijuana and Tecate, cares for children from birth to 18 years, providing education as well as a Christian environment. There are approximately 45-50 children in the orphanage and 180 children in the day care facility.
HopePark partners with ORPHANetwork to spread faith, hope and love to the people of Nicaragua. Hit hard by war and violence in the '70s and '80s and by hurricane Mitch in 1998, Nicaragua's economy and infrastructure are slowly being rebuilt. Today, Nicaragua is the second-poorest nation in the western hemisphere and is plagued by underemployment and unemployment. Teams from HopePark help feed children, share Christ with people living in La Chureca ("city dump"), and work with El Faro church to share God's love.
For centuries, the people of Italy were influenced by Christianity. It can be seen in their art, architecture, history and heritage. In recent centuries, Italians have turned away from Christianity because they question the relevance of a church they perceive as dead or dying. Today, fewer than 2% of Italians identify themselves as Christ-followers. One of those is Pastor Andrea Giorgi. Andrea left Italy and came to the United States to attend seminary. He returned with his wife Susan to start one of the only Evangelical churches in all of Italy, Chiesa Evangelica Logos.
